Gabriel Afolayan leads a wave of soulful reflection & resilience across new releases

Themes of resilience and faith run through a new set of Nigerian releases, as artists turn personal experiences into music that reflects the challenges and aspirations of everyday life.

Leading the pack is entertainer Gabriel Afolayan, who returns with his sixth studio album, while London-based Afrobeats artist Harry Aye and Northern Nigerian rising star OG Abbah and a host of others, offer their own perspectives on perseverance and belief.

Gabriel Afolayan – StandPoint

Actor and singer Gabriel Afolayan returns with his sixth studio album, StandPoint, available now, spanning 19 tracks, the record serves as a crossroads project exploring love, spirituality and self-reflection. Moving from the relationship friction of “Why Do We Love” and “Show You” to spiritual self-motivation on “Won Le Mi” and the fleeting philosophy of “Life Is A Bubble,” Afolayan offers a deeply honest body of work. “I wanted this album to feel like a real conversation, not a performance,” Afolayan explains.

Maandy – Write

Kenyan rapper and singer Maandy explores the emotional spectrum from heartbreak to self-love on her new four-track EP Write.

The project opens with the vulnerability of “December,” moves through the sensual Afropop of “Maji,” embraces post-breakup independence on “Outside,” and culminates in the unapologetic self-appreciation of “Yamii”.

Gabriel Eziashi – Living Testimony

UK-based Nigerian gospel stalwart Gabriel Eziashi presents his nine-track album Living Testimony. Blending powerful vocals with a twenty-year ministry background, the project features tracks like “Holy Ghost Fire”, “Ikuku”, and the title track, turning personal experiences of divine faithfulness into stirring songs of worship.

IDYL, Alfred Jking & Lizberg – Na Me Go Love You
