Kanye West announces New Orleans concert at Caesars Superdome amid global backlash

Kanye West has announced a stadium concert at the 83,000-capacity Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, scheduled for August 28, according to hiphophero.com.

The announcement, made on July 9, comes as the artist continues a global tour in support of his album Bully despite sustained opposition from political figures over his history of antisemitic comments.

The upcoming New Orleans date forms part of an international touring schedule that includes forthcoming performances in Albania, Spain and Portugal, followed by US dates in Louisiana and Chicago. Earlier this year, West performed across Mexico, Turkey, the Netherlands and Georgia, alongside North American stops in Inglewood, Tampa and San Antonio.

His touring schedule has frequently drawn sharp political resistance. His July 4 performance at the city-funded Alamodome in San Antonio proceeded only after the local city council denied a cancellation request from San Antonio Mayor Gina Ortiz. While the council condemned West’s rhetoric, it likened hosting the event to a public library carrying controversial books without endorsing their viewpoints.

The domestic controversies follow stricter actions taken against the artist internationally. Earlier in 2026, West was banned from entering the United Kingdom after being announced as a three-day headliner for London’s Wireless Festival, drawing direct condemnation from UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who pledged to confront antisemitism.
