Kid Cudi has confirmed that he and long-time collaborator Kanye West are currently rebuilding their friendship, raising the prospect of future musical collaborations following years of public fallout, per audiophix.com.
Responding to a fan on social media early on July 20, the American rapper revealed that the pair have re-established contact and are focusing on restoring their personal relationship before pursuing any professional projects.
Cudi stated that while the duo are not presently working on music together, recent communications between them have been positive. Asked whether another collaboration was possible, Cudi expressed confidence that the two would eventually record together again.
The announcement marks a new phase in a notoriously volatile relationship spanning nearly two decades. West originally signed Cudi to his Good Music label in the late 2000s, leading to critically acclaimed joint projects, including the 2018 collaborative album Kids See Ghosts.
