Obedo PF’s ‘Victim’ explores love & loss

Obedo PF has released a new single, “Victim,” a confessional track exploring the tension between love and self-preservation.

The song opens with an admission of vulnerability, as Obedo PF reflects on a relationship where love and pain coexist. He questions his own choices while grappling with conflicting instincts to protect both his partner and himself, even as he contemplates losing everything for the relationship.

At its core, the single expresses a search for peace of mind, clarity of direction and a love that does not derail his focus. “Victim” sustains this emotional tension throughout, moving between care and frustration, and between holding on and letting go. Its chorus returns repeatedly to the feeling of being caught in circumstances beyond his control, even as he remains present within them.

Speaking about the single, the Lagos-based Afro-fusion artist said the song stemmed from genuine reflection, noting that loving someone can sometimes come at the cost of losing oneself.

Known for music that draws on Afro-fusion influences and lived experience, Obedo PF has built a reputation in Lagos for songwriting rooted in honesty, addressing themes of relationships, pressure and survival. “Victim,” now streaming on all platforms via ONErpm, continues that thread.
