Warsheep surrenders to temptation on “Nova”

Warsheep has returned with the new single, “Nova,” a sultry, atmospheric track that explores the pull of messy, high-stakes romance. Following standout releases like “Uloma” and “Waistime”, “Nova” blends alt-Afro textures with modern R&B sensibilities, capturing the magnetism of a lover who is “equal parts angel and storm”.

The single unfolds like a late-night drive through neon-lit streets: moody, fast-paced, and charged with tension.

The Nigerian singer-songwriter sings of a woman who is “lowkey crazy but it’s all right”, a contradiction of tenderness and chaos. Though aware of the risk, declaring “She’s a lot of trouble,” he is ultimately drawn in by the mystery and heat.

Lines such as “Angel for Diablo” blur the line between devotion and obsession, presenting love as beautiful because it is unstable. The smooth yet shadowed production, featuring a rhythmic bounce that pulses “like a heartbeat under pressure”, perfectly mirrors the track’s theme.

“Nova” is about the kind of consuming, confusing love that compels you to stay, even when you know you shouldn’t. In Warsheep’s hands, this contradiction is irresistible.

“Nova” is out now on all streaming platforms.
