Sinachi’s Hanaku EP captures a moment and a mood

Sinachi has always moved between genres with curiosity and care. What began as teenage rapping evolved through Afrobeats, trap and eventually found its home in the alté scene, a space where artistes like Santi and Odunsi redefined Nigerian sound.

With his new EP, Hanaku, the Gwagwalada-born artiste steps fully into his own voice, reflective and unafraid of intimacy.

Across just four tracks, Hanaku plays like a night remembered in flashes, moments of hustle, desire, reflection, and divine alignment. “Check” opens the project with trap-driven confidence, celebrating the glow-up and the gratitude that follows the grind. “Opium” slides into smoother terrain, a hypnotic fusion of Afrobeats and trap where Sinachi explores temptation, pleasure, and the highs of desire. On “Queen of the Coast,” he delivers a sultry ode to an irresistible muse, mysterious, powerful, and almost mythic. Finally, “Manifest” closes the EP with introspection and uplift, a spiritual declaration about stepping into purpose and trusting destiny.

Hanaku wastes no breath. Every song feels intentional and each emotion is fully realised. It is the sound of an artiste finding clarity through experimentation. The project’s brevity is its power, as it leaves one suspended in its mood, and when it ends, you wish it didn’t.
