Lil Nas X arrested after allegedly charging at police

Lil Nas X was arrested and briefly hospitalised on Thursday after allegedly charging at Los Angeles police officers who responded to a call about a man walking naked on a busy street, per cbc.ca.

The incident occurred just before 6 a.m. on Ventura Boulevard in the Studio City neighbourhood. According to police spokesman Officer Charles Miller, officers found the artiste, whose legal name is Montero Lamar Hill, walking on the street.

After officers arrived, Lil Nas X allegedly charged at them and was taken into custody on suspicion of a misdemeanor for obstructing an officer. Police, concerned he may have been suffering from a drug overdose, transported him to a local hospital.

After a few hours, he was released from the hospital and taken to the Valley Jail in Van Nuys. A video obtained by TMZ appeared to show the rapper on the street wearing only underwear and boots.

Known for his genre-bending music and daring style, the 26-year-old artiste from Atlanta is celebrated for his record-breaking 2018 hit “Old Town Road,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 19 weeks. His debut album, Montero, was nominated for a Grammy in 2021.

Representatives for the rapper did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
