New look for Kazuo Ishiguro’s ‘Never Let Me Go’

Nobel laureate Kazuo Ishiguro’s haunting masterpiece Never Let Me Go is to receive a deluxe 20th-anniversary treatment from Faber, per thebookseller.com.

Set to launch March 13, the publisher announced it will mark the anniversary of the acclaimed novel with special clothbound and paperback editions featuring a new introduction by the author.

Never Let Me Go explores themes of love, loss and the meaning of life through the eyes of Kathy H, a young woman grappling with the realities of her existence.

The novel, which has captivated readers worldwide since its 2005 debut, follows Kathy H’s poignant reflections on her childhood at the mysterious Hailsham School, set against a dystopian 1990s England. 

Publishing director Angus Cargill praised the work as “astonishing, strange and haunting,” highlighting its continued ability to resonate with new generations of readers.

The anniversary editions mark two decades of the novel’s profound impact on contemporary literature, cementing its place in Ishiguro’s distinguished body of work.

Born in Nagasaki in 1954 and raised in Britain, Ishiguro received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2017. His works include The Remains of the Day and Klara and the Sun. Known for his subtle exploration of memory and human consciousness, he has established himself as one of the most significant literary voices of our time.
