Netflix has officially greenlit a feature film adaptation of the hit series “Peaky Blinders,” with production set to begin later this year, per cineramafilm.com. The film, a continuation of the acclaimed gangster saga set in 1900s Birmingham, has been penned by series creator Steven Knight, who will also co-produce alongside Caryn Mandabach, Cillian Murphy, and Guy Heeley. The project will be made in association with BBC Film.
Tom Harper, who directed episodes in the show’s first season in 2013, will return to direct the movie. Academy Award® winner Cillian Murphy will reprise his iconic role as Tommy Shelby, which he portrayed over six seasons from 2013 to 2022. While specific plot details and additional casting remain under wraps, the film promises to be a significant chapter in the “Peaky Blinders” story.
Steven Knight expressed his excitement, stating, “It will be an explosive chapter in the Peaky Blinders story. No holds barred.
