Rihanna has landed her first ever Golden Globe nomination, ahead of next year’s ceremony.
The 34-year-old’s first solo release since 2017 “Lift Me Up” for the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack got her on the enviable list.
The nominations, announced Monday, have James Cameron’s Avatar sequel, The Way of Water, Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery in the mix.
The awards, voted on by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, with the ceremony taking place on January 10, at the Beverly Hilton.
The Banshees of Inisherin leads the way with eight nominations, including best motion picture and best director for Martin McDonagh.
It will be a tough category for the filmmaker, as James Cameron, Baz Luhrmann, Steven Spielberg and Everything Everywhere All At Once’s Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert have also earned nods.
Colin Farrell has been mentioned in the best actor category while castmates Brendon Gleeson and Barry Keoghan will be going up against each other – as well as Brad Pitt, Eddie Redmayne and Ke Huy Quan for best supporting actor.
Next year’s ceremony will be hosted by Jerrod Carmichael, and comes after a subdued 2022 event.
