Carlos Santana says he forgot to eat, drink water

Legendary US guitarist Carlos Santana says he “forgot to eat and drink water” that’s why he collapsed on stage during an open-air concert near Detroit, Michigan, the BBC reports.

According to the outlet, medical personnel treated the 74-year-old in Clarkston on Tuesday, and he was taken to a local hospital’s emergency department for observation.

Santana, who was born in Mexico, later wrote on his Facebook page that he “forgot to eat and drink water” and “so I dehydrated and passed out”.

His website, santana.com quoted his manager, Michael Vrionis, as saying the musician was doing well.

“The guitar great was taken from his show at Pine Knob Music Theatre (formerly DTE Energy Music Theatre), an outdoor amphitheater in Clarkston, some 40 miles northwest of Detroit, Michigan. Carlos was taken to the emergency department at McLaren Clarkston for observation and is doing well, it was announced by Santana’s manager Michael Vrionis tonight.

“The show for tomorrow July 6th at The Pavilion at Star Lake (formerly the S&T Bank Music Park) in Burgettstown, PA. will be postponed to a later date. More details to follow thru Live Nation,” Mr Vrionis added.
