The #BookerPrize2019 has been announced!
For over 50 years, the Booker Prize, considered as one of the top literary awards, has been at the forefront of recognizing outstanding fiction in English
Each year, a panel of judges selects one novel as the year’s best fiction work written in English and published in the UK or Ireland.
The shortlist was announced Tuesday, leaving six authors and their books in the race for the 2019 Booker Prize of £50,000 or approximately $60,325.
The winner for 2019 award will be announced on October 14.
Here’s the list of the authors who made the 2019 Booker Prize’s longlist along with their books. The short-listed authors have been rendered with asterisks.

Nigerian writer Chigozie Obioma is still in the contention for the much- coveted prize with his second novel, “An Orchestra of Minorities”. Ditto for Bernardine Evaristo whose eight book, “Girl, Woman, Other” is also in the race.
Will a Nigerian win the Booker Prize this year and end the 28 year spell since Nigerian author Ben Okri clinched the prize for his book, The Famished Road?
