Kashimawo, under the direction of Prof Rasaki Bakare Ojo on the other hand, delves into Yoruba mythology, offering a unique perspective on Abiola’s life, emphasising spirituality over politics.

In a statement released by Mofoluwake Edgar, managing director of Duke of Shomolu Foundation “Kashimawo will delve very deeply into Yoruba mythology in an attempt to tell the story of this remarkable Nigerian whose very colourful life and ultimate sacrifice berthed the present democracy we now enjoy”.

Written and directed by one of Nigeria’s foremost theatre directors Prof Rasaki Bakare Ojo who also happens to be the Commissioner for Arts and Culture in Ekiti State, Kashimawo would introduce the mythical characters that formed and guided the personality of the great MKO Abiola.

The production is sponsored by First Bank of Nigeria Limited, LIRS and Unified Payment.
