The Gods Are Coming; A look At Iwalewa Books’ Upcoming Cultural Anthology

Iwalewabooks’ latest literary offering is a nod to culture and a spotlight on the little known myth about yoruba gods.

It recently announced a cooperation with the Goethe Institut Nigeria on an epic cultural publication, that features ‘the 16 most important Yoruba Gods for young readers.’

The soon-to-be-released anthology was written by three of Nigeria’s finest writers, Peju Akande, Toni Kan and Jahman Anikulapo and illustrated by Abdulkareem Baba Aminu. The book was edited with the support of Temidayo Oyeniran, Kolade Igbasan, and Stephen Folaranmi,

The date of release is still yet to be announced but we can’t wait to experience the depth of knowledge that such a cultural milestone is sure to create.

In case you missed Iwalewa Books’ project presentation at this year’s Aké Book Festival in October 2020 with Tony Kan and Peju Akande about the aforementioned Yoruba Gods Anthology, you can still check it out in the link below:
