Table of Paradox, a debut solo exhibition by Peter Okotor, is now showing at the Centre for Contemporary Art, Lagos .
Opened on October 1, Nigeria’s independence anniversary, it is comprising of archival materials, sound, and digital technology.
“This new body of work takes an introspective look at the history of Nigeria since the attainment of self-rule, and metaphorically unravels how her historic past, embodied by hopefulness and freedom from dependent rule, expresses itself on the modern-day,” said a statement announcing the exhibition, which will run until the end of October 2021.
Born in 1988, Peter Okotor, who is considered to be an emerging artist,
grew up during the 1990s and was inspired by the artistic culture of the time.
