#RoundAboutTown With Henri Yire

If the show promoters, livespot have a sit down with the Flytime entertainment crew and pull in other notorious show promoters, maybe they can find a way to bring back sanity to the Lagos streets.

Maybe.

There are too many gigs this month and it has clogged our streets.
December Traffic has been epic!

My question is, how do they manage to ship the performing artistes through that phenomenal traffic to the event venue?

An O’Ride maybe.

I did 3 hours in traffic the other day just because I disregarded ‘Ngozi’ the Nigerian Google Map Voice and attempted to maneuver through the Landmark event centre area.
Ngozi was right, I should have just patiently waited out the 1 hour 30 minutes traffic on the Lekki expressway.

The plan is not to get unecessarily stressed in a bid to have fun this month.
Yeah, I know fun should come with some andrenalin-based activities but let’s not overdo it.
We still have 2020 to contend with right?

Here’s some help though. A few moderately-sane, stage-sturdy, completely safe events that will be worth your while this weekend.

Let’s go!

Born and raised in Benin City, Edozie Anedu is a self-taught artist whose style focuses on the human condition, socio political ideologies and pop-culture. Working primarily with oils on canvas and recyclable materials, Edozie employs an aggressive use of color with ill- drawn figures to express emotion, initiate conversation and catch attention. Edozie’s childlike and sometimes aggressive strokes make room for accidents and give his paintings that unique, seemingly effortlessly haphazard appearance. His current show consists of 18 new works – most of them formerly discarded, reworked pieces that lend their name to the exhibition title- Mistakes I Chose to Keep. Each piece telling a coming of age story – a journey of excitement, adjustments and hopeful rush to the future – while at the same time embracing moments of melancholy and memories of past people, places and things.
