Ridley Scott, 83, shows no signs of slowing down and has released two 2021 studio feature films within months of each other (The Last Duel and House of Gucci, and is already prepping his next project at Apple Studios with Kitbag.
The Playlist reports that Kitbag will see him reunite with Gladiator actor Joaquin Phoenix and The Last Duel star Jodie Comer as cameras are expected to begin rolling in early 2022.
According to the report, people are all a buzz about his fashion crime flick House of Gucci starring folks such as Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Jared Leto, and Al Pacino, as many have been either tickled or puzzled by its brazen choices. The drama, released this weekend domestically, focuses on the dramatic events leading up to the murder of Maurizio Gucci and how his wife Patrizia Reggiani got entangled in the family business along with her attempted coup of the Italian fashion house.
While promoting House of Gucci, the veteran filmmaker revealed to the ReelBlend podcast that he’s planning on releasing a “long” or extended cut of the film at some point, alluding to home release. Note that Scott doesn’t exactly say when that is coming and if it’ll be part of the film’s first round of physical copies.
