Oyinkan Braithwaite’s ‘Cursed Daughters’ triumphs at British Book Awards

Oyinkan Braithwaite has won the Best Fiction Audiobook category at The British Book Awards for her novel, Cursed Daughters.

The winning audio edition was narrated by a collaborative cast featuring Weruche Opia, Diana Yekinni and Nnei Clark.

In their official summation, the British Book Awards judging panel stated they were impressed by the authenticity and richness of the production. The judges commended the performance of the three narrators, noting that their delivery succeeded in creating a listening experience that felt deeply human.

The announcement was confirmed by Braithwaite’s publisher, Narrative Landscape Press, an independent publishing firm based in Lagos that handles fiction, non-fiction, memoirs and children’s literature.

The author is set to embark on a tour of major Nigerian cities in June to read and sign copies of the book. Tickets for various cities have since gone on sale with group tickets also available for those who want to come with their family, friends and reading groups.
