Narrative Landscape Press to launch Eghosa Imasuen’s ‘The Challengers’ today

Narrative Landscape Press will present Eghosa Imasuen’s new book, “The Challengers,” today, Monday, July 13 by 4pm at the Radisson Blu Anchorage in Victoria Island, Lagos. The book traces the founding and growth of VFD Group, a Nigerian company that emerged from the 2008 financial crisis to become a billion-naira business.

“The Challengers” recounts the personal journeys, risks and conflicts of the young Nigerian entrepreneurs who founded the company now known as VFD Group. The book marks Imasuen’s return to writing after a 14-year hiatus following his best-selling novel, Fine Boys.

The Lagos event will include conversations, networking and book signings, with copies available for purchase.

Imasuen trained and practised as a medical doctor before establishing himself in Nigerian publishing. He is the author of the novels To Saint Patrick and Fine Boys, both released through Farafina. In 2016, after a stint managing the publishing house Kachifo Limited, he co-founded Narrative Landscape Press with Anwuli Ojiogwu, describing the venture as an attempt to demonstrate that Nigerian publishing could be commercially viable while maintaining high literary standards.
