Masobe Books has acquired “Fall From Grace,” a new crime thriller by Nigerian-British author Leye Adenle, the opening instalment of a planned private investigator series.
“Masobe Books is thrilled to announce the acquisition of Leye Adenle’s gripping new thriller, ‘Fall From Grace,’ the first novel in a sharp, timely and darkly funny new private investigator series,” the publisher said in an Instagram post, adding that Adenle has been hailed by Lee Child as crime fiction’s best new voice for years.
A release date and cover art are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
“Fall From Grace” adds to a growing catalogue for Adenle, who first gained international recognition with his debut, Easy Motion Tourist, winner of France’s Prix Marianne in 2016. He has since published When Trouble Sleeps, Unfinished Business and The Beautiful Side of the Moon, alongside his latest work, the novella Cell One, part of the Quick Reads series and available now through major booksellers.
Adenle’s fiction has consistently returned to themes of power, survival and moral consequence, set against African and diasporic backdrops.
He lives in London.
Masobe Books, known for backing bold voices in African crime and speculative fiction, has yet to release further details on “Fall From Grace”’s plot or publication timeline.
