Marilyn Monroe fans break world record in California centenary gathering

A new Guinness World Record has been established in the United States after 1,000 Marilyn Monroe lookalikes gathered in downtown Palm Springs, California, per bbc.com.

The fans, who dressed in the American actress and model’s iconic white dress and platinum blonde wig, assembled ahead of her centenary.

The gathering comfortably broke the previous world record of 254 people, which was established in Australia in 2020.

Monroe, one of the most celebrated figures of 20th-century American cinema, remains a durable cultural icon decades after her death. The record-breaking event highlights the global scale of her enduring fanbase.
