Maison Valentino announced as headline sponsor for International Booker Prize 2024

Maison Valentino, the iconic fashion house, has joined forces with The Booker Prize Foundation as the headline sponsor for the International Booker Prize 2024 ceremony, adding a touch of glamour to the literary world, per creativebrief.com. Recognised as the Oscars of the book world, the Booker Prize celebrates outstanding fiction from around the globe, emphasising inclusivity and diverse storytelling.

The partnership between Maison Valentino and The Booker Prize Foundation aims to elevate the cultural status of storytellers worldwide. By championing excellence in inclusivity in art and storytelling, they hope to give deserving authors the recognition they deserve.

This year’s shortlist features works from six countries, translated from six languages, offering readers a diverse range of stories that blend the intimate with the political in innovative ways.

Maison Valentino’s connection to the literary world runs deep, with the fashion house having collaborated with several authors nominated for the Booker Prizes, including Hanya Yanagihara, Leila Mottley, Elif Shafak, and Mieko Kawakami.

As part of their sponsorship, Maison Valentino will donate 500 sets of the six shortlisted books to libraries across the UK, aiming to inspire more readers and support emerging translators through partnerships with organizations like English PEN.

The International Booker Prize 2024 ceremony, set for May 21, will be live-streamed on YouTube, with popular BookTuber Jack Edwards hosting the event. With Maison Valentino’s support, The Booker Prize Foundation continues to celebrate the richness and diversity of world fiction while promoting inclusivity in storytelling.
