Lynch, Balfe, others to read at Women’s Prize for Fiction Shortlist Book Club

The Women’s Prize for Fiction is holding a Shortlist Book Club online across three evenings in May to celebrate this year’s shortlisted novels.

The events will reportedly feature a line-up of celebrated actors performing exclusive readings from the shortlisted novels, including “Outlander’s” Caitríona Balfe, the first female 007, Lashana Lynch, Juliet Stevenson and Indira Varma, with more actors to be announced.

Two authors from the shortlist are to be showcased per night, between 22nd and 24th May, each interviewed by author and the founder director of the prize Kate Mosse. This year’s shortlist features Jacqueline Crooks’ Fire Rush (Jonathan Cape), Louise Kennedy’s Trespasses (Bloomsbury Circus), Barbara Kingsolver’s Demon Copperhead, Priscilla Morris’s Black Butterflies, Maggie O’Farrell’s The Marriage Portrait (Tinder Press) and Laline Paull’s Pod (Corsair).

All ticket holders will receive bespoke reading guides and readers from across the world are invited to join the conversation by sharing their questions for the authors.

Tickets are already on sale and the organisers say all three events will be available to watch on-demand and profits go towards The Women’s Prize Trust.
