Thought Pyramid Art Centre in Ikoyi, Lagos, will open “Relational Waters” on Saturday, August 15, a trio photography exhibition documenting West Africa’s historic floating communities through the work of three Nigerian photographers.
The show brings together Kunle Ogunfuyi, a photojournalist with ThisDay; Emmanuel Zannou, a studio and corporate photographer; and Timipre Willis Amah, a fine art photographer, in what organisers describe as a fluid discovery across three distinct disciplines.
Curated by Adeolu Tahouf, founder of Ogirikan Art Gallery, the exhibition sets out to stage a dialogue between journalism, fine art and studio practice, all trained on the same subject: the floating settlements that have long shaped life on West Africa’s waterways.
The opening reception runs from 4pm on August 15, with the exhibition remaining open to the public daily from 11am to 6pm until it closes on August 29.
