Foxx and former ‘In Living Color’ castmate, David Alan Grier, reunite on the upcoming television sitcom.
Jamie Foxx is back on his funny sh*t with his upcoming television sitcom, Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! Set to premiere on April 14 on Netflix, Foxx plays a businessman who adjusts to bachelor life as a single father to his teenage daughter, Sasha (Kyla-Drew). The multi-camera comedy series is inspired by his relationship with his real-life daughter and the series’ co-executive producer, Corinne Foxx, and co-created with writer and producer, Jim Patterson.
Foxx not only reunites with The Jamie Foxx Show producer Bentley Kyle Evans—who will serve as showrunner and co-producer—for the new series, he’s reuniting with former In Living Color castmate David Alan Grier, who plays his father. In true sketch comedy style, Foxx is set to play a slew of additional characters like the balding, sandal rockin’ Calvin.
“I cannot wait for you guys to check my new television show on Netflix “Dad Stop embarrassing me” nonstop laughs and characters galore…,” wrote an excited Foxx in the caption of his Instagram post. “Like Calvin who insisted on having a photo shoot… April 14 tap in!”
The cast of Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! includes Porscha Coleman, Jonathan Kite, Heather Hemmens, and Valente Rodriguez. Ken Whittingham (black-ish) is the 8-episode show’s director. Catch Foxx’s new show on Netflix this Spring (April 14) on Netflix.
