Helon Habila honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award

Helon Habila has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2024 Kaduna Book & Arts Festival. 

The award, presented by Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, celebrates Habila’s outstanding contributions to literature.

Previous recipients of this honour include esteemed authors such as Zaynab Alkali and Labo Yari. 

Habila, known for his critically acclaimed novels and seminal works, currently serves as a Professor of Creative Writing at George Mason University in Virginia, USA.

Additionally, he is an active board member of the Africa Writers Trust, further promoting African writers and literature on the global stage.-
