Caine Prize for African Writing seeks compelling short stories

The Caine Prize for African Writing, a prestigious award for short stories, is now accepting submissions for its 2024 edition. The annual prize celebrates the continent’s literary talent, awarding £10,000 to the winning author.

This year’s submissions, according to a statement by the organisers, opened on March 4th, and they are eager to receive captivating stories by African writers recently published in English.

The Caine Prize is a platform for African writers to gain international recognition. Past winners like NoViolet Bulawayo and Helon Habila have seen their careers flourish after receiving the award.
