Gillian Anderson makes a bold statement on the 2024 Golden Globes red carpet

Gillian Anderson, renowned for her role in ‘Sex Education,’ made a bold entrance at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards, stealing the spotlight with a custom ivory gown by Gabriela Hearst per people.com.

According to the report, the strapless dress, a canvas for empowerment and artistry, featured meticulously embroidered vaginas—a deliberate choice by the 55-year-old actress.

In an interview with Deadline, Anderson shared, “[I wore it] for so many reasons,” emphasising that the design aligns with her personal brand. Further explaining her inspiration, she told people.com that the gown’s floral theme, adorned with peonies, captured her heart. Each motif on the dress, a testament to craftsmanship, took 3.5 hours to embroider according to the label.

Accessorising with Chopard jewels, Anderson showcased an 18k white gold necklace with a 10-carat pear-shaped yellow diamond and other dazzling pieces totaling nearly 30 carats of diamonds. While her jewellery exuded opulence, the actress embraced a natural approach to her hair, allowing a few grey roots to peek through, complementing her overall glamorous yet authentic look.

Balancing glamour with comfort, Anderson has been known for her laid-back style. In a throwback to 2021, she openly expressed her aversion to bras during an Instagram Live Q&A, stating, “I don’t wear a bra anymore. I can’t wear a bra. I’m sorry, but I don’t care if my breasts reach my belly button. It’s just too uncomfortable.”
