Drake sets Billboard record as ‘Iceman’ dominates Hot 100

Drake has broken another Billboard chart record following the release of his latest album, Iceman, per complex.com.

The 18-track project has become the first album in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 to have all of its songs featured on the chart for three consecutive weeks.

Several tracks from the album have secured positions within the top 20, including “Shabang,” “Ran to Atlanta” featuring Future and Molly Santana, and “Janice STFU”. The latter earned Drake his first multi-week number-one single since his 2018 track “In My Feelings”, before recently being replaced at the top spot by Ariana Grande’s new release, “Hate That I Made You Love Me”.

This chart milestone surpasses a previous record set by Kendrick Lamar, who maintained all 12 tracks of his sixth studio album, GNX, on the Hot 100 chart for three consecutive weeks.

Iceman also secured its third week at number one on the Billboard 200, making it Drake’s first album to lead the chart for that duration since Certified Lover Boy in 2021. The artist’s intervening releases included solo projects “Honestly,” “Nevermind” and “For All the Dogs,” alongside collaborative albums Her Loss with 21 Savage and $ome $exy $ongs 4 U with PARTYNEXTDOOR.

The achievement follows the simultaneous May launch of Iceman and two surprise follow-up albums, Maid of Honour and Habibti. All three records occupied the top three positions on the Billboard 200 upon release, breaking global streaming records and increasing streaming figures for featured collaborators such as Stunna Sandy and Iconic Savvy.

With these recent chart entries, the five-time Grammy Award winner has achieved 14 number-one singles, breaking the record previously held by Michael Jackson for the most solo number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100.
