Demi Moore & Chloé Zhao join Park Chan-wook’s 2026 Cannes Film Festival jury

The Cannes Film Festival has confirmed the full jury lineup for its 79th edition, with American actress Demi Moore, Oscar-winning director Chloé Zhao and Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård joining Jury President Park Chan-wook, per variety.com.

The nine-member panel will evaluate 22 films in the main Competition to determine the winner of the prestigious Palme d’Or.

The 2026 jury features a diverse range of international talent, including Irish-Ethiopian actress Ruth Negga, Scottish screenwriter Paul Laverty and Ivorian-American actor Isaach De Bankolé. Completing the panel are Belgian director Laura Wandel, Chinese-born Zhao and Chilean filmmaker Diego Céspedes, who secured an Un Certain Regard prize at the festival last year.

Demi Moore returns to the Croisette following her recent success in The Substance, while Chloé Zhao joins the panel after the critical acclaim of her latest feature, Hamnet. Stellan Skarsgård also brings recent festival momentum, having starred in last year’s award-winning drama Sentimental Value.

The jury faces a high-profile slate of 22 films from acclaimed directors, including Pedro Almodóvar, James Gray, Asghar Farhadi, and Hirokazu Kore-eda. Paul Laverty, a long-time collaborator of Ken Loach, joins the group as a two-time Palme d’Or-winning writer, adding significant editorial experience to the deliberations.

The panel succeeds the 2025 jury led by Juliette Binoche, which awarded the top prize to Jafar Panahi’s It Was Just an Accident. The winners of the 79th edition will be announced at the festival’s closing ceremony.
