Afro Plus Fest will return to the Washington, DC area for a three-day event at the Northwest Stadium Complex in Landover, Maryland, from September 4 to 6, with Davido, Alkaline and Wizkid as headliners, per hiphopwired.com.
Organisers expect up to 40,000 visitors per day across two stages.

The festival, billed as the world’s largest Afro-Caribbean Hip-Hop festival, debuted in Washington, DC in 2025 with a sold-out crowd of more than 20,000. This year’s edition expands to three days and moves to Prince George’s County for Labor Day Weekend. The all-ages event is organised in partnership with the Prince George’s County Executive Office.

In addition to the headliners, performers include Lil Baby, Latto, Chief Keef and Sexyy Red. Other artists on the lineup are Adekunle Gold, Olamide, Sarkodie, Tiwa Savage, Odeal, Spice, Dexta Daps, Bien, Ruger, Fridayy, Victony, Young Jonn, Gabzy, Jada Kingdom, DJ Tunez, Ricky Platinum, No11, Poco Lee, Compozers and Kingsmen.
The festival will feature genres including Afrobeats, Hip-Hop, Dancehall, Amapiano, Soca and R&B. A segment will highlight DMV-area acts Mannywellz, Foggie Raw, New Impressionz Band, Yung Manny and Flow & Friends.
Festival hours are 2pm to 10pm on Friday, September 4; 1pm to 11pm on Saturday, September 5; and 1pm to 10pm on Sunday, September 6. Doors open one hour before each day. The venue, Northwest Stadium Complex, is located at 1600 Ring Rd, Landover, near the Morgan Boulevard Metro station. Official parking and rideshare access will be available. Local Black-owned food and fashion vendors will be onsite.
Michael Awosanya, Founder and Executive Producer of Afro Plus Fest, said the event is returning to Prince George’s County where organisers were raised, adding that “this year is bigger because the community demanded it be bigger.”
Prince George’s County Executive Aisha Braveboy said the festival “reflects the vibrancy, diversity, and global influence” of the county. She noted the event supports economic growth, cultural pride, tourism and opportunities for local businesses and artists.
Organisers project 120,000 attendees over the weekend. Last year’s festival generated millions for the local economy, according to organisers. VIP and GA+ tickets sold out within a day of last week’s announcement. GA and Platinum tickets remain available.
Afro Plus Fest launched in 2025 as Afro+ Fest in Washington, DC. The event celebrates African and Caribbean music and culture, with the tagline “Africa, plus more.” The DMV region has a large African and Caribbean diaspora population.
