Charli XCX releases new B-side single & Kyoto-filmed music video

Charli XCX has released a new single titled “I Keep On Thinking Bout You Every Single Day and Night,” serving as the B-side to her recent track “Rock Music,” per pitchfork.com.

The release, debuted on May 10, is currently restricted to vinyl and the artist’s dedicated Instagram account, with no immediate plans for a digital streaming platform launch.

The new track arrives as a melodic contrast to the guitar-driven “Rock Music,” featuring softer vocals and lyrical themes exploring friendship and identity. It is accompanied by a black-and-white music video directed by Aidan Zamiri, known for the film The Moment.

Production for the video took place in Kyoto, Japan, where the singer was filming for a separate project. In a social media post, the artist encouraged fans to record the audio themselves, suggesting the track will remain an exclusive physical and social media release for the foreseeable future.

This release follows a series of high-profile projects for the musician, including the soundtrack for Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights adaptation. In recent interviews, she has indicated that her upcoming studio album, the successor to 2024’s Brat, will lean further into live instrumentation and organic vocal performances.

In addition to her musical output, the artist continues to expand her cinematic career. Following her recent appearance in the Polish film Erupja, she is scheduled to appear in the Faces of Death remake and Gregg Araki’s I Want Your Sex.

The release is a strategic shift toward exclusivity and “lo-fi” distribution methods, bypassing traditional streaming services to drive engagement through physical media and private social media channels.
