AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) has exciting news for the 2023 AIDS Walk Atlanta as R&B icons Ashanti and Mýa are slated to headline the event. Scheduled for September 23rd at Atlanta’s Piedmont Park, the 32nd annual AIDS Walk aims to raise funds for 11 local HIV/AIDS service organisations.
Dawn Averill, AHF Atlanta’s regional director, highlighted the significance of the event, emphasising its role in raising awareness about the impact of HIV/AIDS in the community. She expressed AHF’s pride in contributing to the fight against the disease through education and empowerment.
The AIDS Walk Atlanta will kick off with a 5K walk/run and culminate in performances by the two R&B legends, Ashanti and Mýa. Both artists recently marked milestones in their careers, with Mýa celebrating the 20th anniversary of her album “Moodring” and Ashanti commemorating the 20th anniversary of her albums “Chapter II” and her self-titled debut.
This year, the event takes on added significance as it brings together music, charity, and a commitment to combat HIV/AIDS. For more information on the event, visit aidswalkatlanta.org.
