Afrobeats Music Festival takes P-Square, Diamond Platinumz, Kranium, others to Ottawa

The first ever Afrobeats Music Festival to take place in Ottawa, Canada will take place on Saturday 20 August with a star-studded lineup of  international acts like Diamond Platinumz, P-Square, Kranium, Focalistic, Sensey and Primo Green.

According to Shifter magazine, many local artistes will also be taking the stage throughout the day.

The festival, the outlet adds, will be taking place at the Ottawa Titans Baseball Club, and will have a heavy rotation of mainly Afrobeats music with a blend of soca, reggae, dancehall, zouk, and much more.

“This is the first event of its kind happening in the nation’s Capital, and as Afrobeats music continues to take over the world, it’s amazing to witness the culture being shared and showcased in ways that literally bring thousands of people together,” the magazine says.

Africa Live Canada, the organisers of the event was founded in 2016, and is a youth-driven non-profit organisation that aims to positively impact Canadians of African Descent in Ottawa.

Last summer, Africa Live Canada brought vibes to Mooney’s Bay with Afrofest Ottawa, which was a free, two-day music festival with a lineup filled with artistes from Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto with over 10,000 attendees.
