Selena Gomez & Demi Lovato partner for Rare Beauty launch

Longtime friends and former Disney Channel co-stars Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato have reunited for a new Rare Beauty campaign, marking a milestone in their 25-year personal and professional relationship.

The collaboration channels the pair’s characters from their 2009 Disney Channel film Princess Protection Program.

Speaking to elle.com, Lovato reflected on their dynamic, noting that while their contact has varied over the years, their bond remains strong. Lovato expressed appreciation for being able to collaborate professionally and spend time together as adults.

Gomez echoed these sentiments in an Instagram post published on Oct 30, addressing Lovato directly and thanking her for her long-standing honesty and support. Gomez noted that having Lovato participate in the campaign carried deep personal significance, referencing their shared history since meeting at age seven on the set of Barney & Friends.

The joint business venture follows a public reconciliation over the past year. In April, Gomez attended the opening night of Lovato’s It’s Not That Deep Tour in Orlando, Florida, after which the two re-followed each other on social media.

Context Paragraph: The public reunion marks a shift from 2020, when Lovato indicated in a magazine interview that the pair had grown apart. Their relationship visibly improved in September 2025, when Lovato publicly praised Gomez’s music release and expressed support ahead of Gomez’s marriage to music producer Benny Blanco on Sept 27, 2025.
