U2 have announced that their upcoming studio album is titled “Carnaval de Luz,” with frontman Bono confirming the title during an appearance on an Irish Times podcast, per faroutmagazine.co.uk.
The announcement comes as the Irish rock band prepare to release their second single from the record, titled “Silencio,” accompanied by a music video at 5pm BST on September 24.
Speaking alongside bandmates Larry Mullen Jr, The Edge, and Adam Clayton, Bono shared the title after checking if he was permitted to reveal it. He described the new record as strong material that captures the band’s classic energy, noting that the LP serves as a prequel to their earlier 2026 EPs, Days of Ash’and Easter Lily.
The upcoming release marks U2’s first full-length album of original material since 2017’s Songs of Experience. The band’s active year follows a quieter period, with further details regarding the full album release expected to be announced as the group marks their 50th anniversary on September 25.
