The curtain has finally been pulled back on Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro’s highly anticipated adaptation of Frankenstein, as Netflix Friday released the official trailer for the gothic horror-thriller, per gizmodo.com.
The preview offers a haunting look at the film, which stars Oscar Isaac (Dune, Moon Knight) as Victor von Frankenstein, the brilliant but deeply egotistical scientist whose monstrous ambition drives him to create life.

The trailer also unveils Euphoria star Jacob Elordi’s dramatic transformation into the tragic, resurrected creature, showcasing the havoc that Victor’s experiment unleashes upon the world. Joining the two leads is Mia Goth, who is confirmed for a pivotal role in the ensemble cast.
Del Toro, who has been working on his vision of the Mary Shelley classic for over a decade, has previously noted that his adaptation moves beyond a simple cautionary narrative, focusing instead on themes of “forgiveness, understanding and the importance of listening to each other.”
Frankenstein is expected to receive a limited release in select theatres after the October 17 trailer unveil, before becoming available to stream globally on Netflix on November 7.
