The South London Gallery (SLG) is set to host the latest edition of The Conch, a unique platform where artists present and receive feedback on their work-in-progress. This session offers audiences a direct opportunity to engage with and influence the development of new artistic concepts.

Scheduled for Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 7–8:30pm in the Clore Studio, this edition brings together presentations by artists Lucy Duncombe and Gribs. Their work will delve into themes of sonic autofictions and the complex use of found texts in the digital age.

The event is curated by Tabitha Thorlu-Bangura, a specialist in music and contemporary culture.

Lucy Duncombe (also known as Lucy Duncan or Lisa Duncomb) is known for her exploration of “failed exorcisms in roleplay via double agents and virtual fakes,” often collaborating with Feronia Wennborg. Describing herself as an “anti-charismatic fan, amateur eavesdropper and sic-line administrator,” her practice incorporates covers, sampling and music mixes.

Gribs is a seasoned DJ and radio host who currently holds a monthly residency on NTS. Her previous performance venues include prestigious locations such as Cafe Oto, Tate Modern, Raven Row, the Institute of Contemporary Arts and the MADEIRADiG Festival.

Tickets for The Conch are £5 and are limited. They are sold online through Eventbrite. While tickets are non-refundable, those who miss out online may still find limited tickets available on a first-come, first-served basis at the door.

The event is seated and will be live-captioned. Wheelchair access and disabled toilets are available on-site. Participants are advised that the room may be dark at times, and while there is no dedicated breakout space, breaks are welcome before and after the presentations. For specific access requirements, attendees are asked to contact lily@southlondongallery.org.
