Doechii has suddenly cancelled all of her upcoming festival performances, leaving fans and event organisers in the dark, per hiphopdx.com. The surprising news was confirmed by multiple festivals, though no official reason has been given for the last-minute pull-out.
Doechii was originally scheduled to perform at London’s All Points East festival this Saturday (August 23), but organisers released a statement announcing her withdrawal.
“Unfortunately, Doechii will no longer be able to perform at All Points East on Saturday August 23,” the statement read. “We’d like to apologise to any disappointed fans and hope to welcome Doechii to All Points East in the future.”
Similar announcements quickly followed from Forwards Bristol in the UK and Rock En Seine in Paris, France. All three festivals have confirmed Doechii’s cancellation without offering a reason, and the Top Dawg Entertainment rapper herself has remained silent on the matter.
Despite the sudden cancellations, Doechii’s upcoming Live From the Swamp tour is still set to go forward as planned in October. The artiste is known for being outspoken, particularly on political issues. Earlier this year, she used her acceptance speech at the BET Awards to deliver a sharp critique of Donald Trump and his administration’s immigration policies, calling out the use of military force against protesters and the “ruthless attacks” on immigrant communities.
