Kesha has swapped out controversial AI-generated artwork for a striking new image on her single “Delusional,” following widespread online backlash, per music.mxdwn.com.
The original cover, featuring a stylised render of leather bags, has been replaced with a more personal, artist-centric photograph of Kesha zip-tied to a chair – a visual choice more aligned with her upcoming album’s aesthetic.
The change comes six months after the single’s initial release, with the pop superstar now claiming her use of AI was a deliberate move to spark conversation around the devaluing of artistes’ labour. However, skeptics suggest the timing points to a reactive measure against mounting criticism.
Kesha is not alone in facing scrutiny for employing AI in promotional materials. The Voidz ignited a similar firestorm last year with their AI-generated album art for Like All Before You.
