Fans of the legendary Tina Turner are set for an electrifying musical surprise as a previously unheard track, “Hot for You Baby,” is scheduled for release on March 21, nearly four decades after its original recording, per mirror.co.uk.
The lost song, originally intended for Turner’s groundbreaking 1984 Private Dancer album, will be part of a comprehensive anniversary edition that promises to transport listeners back to the iconic singer’s breakthrough era.
The release is more than just a musical artefact; it’s a tribute to the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll, who passed away two years ago. The anniversary collection will feature not only the newly discovered track but also live performances, rare footage and a 55-minute concert film captured during her Private Dancer Tour at Birmingham’s NEC in March 1985.
“Hot for You Baby” showcases Turner’s signature raspy vocals and provocative lyrics, with the singer crooning, “I’ve been sitting here for the last few hours, looking at you” over a thumping bass line. The track’s raunchy energy and memorable guitar solo highlight why it was considered for her original album.
The Private Dancer album, which originally earned Grammy nominations and featured hits like “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” went on to sell over 10 million copies. This new release offers fans a glimpse into the musical genius of an artist who transformed the rock landscape.
Listeners can catch the first broadcast of the track on BBC Radio 2’s Breakfast Show with Mark Goodier.
