Submissions are now open for the prestigious Warwick Prize for Women in Translation, marking its eighth year of celebrating literary excellence.
With a generous award of £1,000, in a statement by Holly Langstaff for the organisers, this distinguished prize, which seeks to honour the creative voices of women from around the world. recognises the best works of fiction, poetry, non-fiction, children’s literature, plays and graphic novels written by women and translated into English by talented translators of any gender.
Eligible works must have been published for the first time in print form in the United Kingdom and/or Ireland between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2024, with re-translations and self-translations also considered.
‘Your Wish Is My Command’ by Deena MohamedThe previous year’s laureate, Deena Mohamed, claimed the coveted title for her self-translation from Arabic of the captivating graphic novel Your Wish Is My Command, published by Granta.
