Former Hannah Montana star Mitchel Musso found himself in legal trouble over the weekend, as he was arrested on suspicion of theft and public intoxication.
According to a BBC report, the 32-year-old actor, best known for his role as Oliver Oken in the Disney sitcom, was taken into custody after allegedly stealing a packet of crisps from a hotel in Rockwell, Texas.
According to NBC reports, the incident took place on Saturday, prompting hotel staff to contact the police. Musso is said to have refused payment for the stolen item and became verbally aggressive when confronted. Upon running a background check, law enforcement discovered that the actor had multiple outstanding traffic warrants.
Musso spent the night in jail and was released on Sunday after posting a $1,000 (£793) bond. The charges against him also include expired car registration, failure to display a driving license, and violating a “promise to appear” notice.
This isn’t the first time Musso has faced legal issues. In 2011, he was arrested for driving under the influence in Burbank, California, leading to fines, probation, and mandatory alcohol education classes.
The “Hannah Montana” show, which aired between 2006 and 2011, starred Miley Cyrus as a teenager leading a secret life as a pop star. Musso’s arrest adds to a series of ups and downs since the show ended, including his involvement in other Disney projects and film appearances.
