Chris Rock didn’t hold back the jokes when coming to his friend’s rescue. The comedian poked fun at his Oscars altercation with Will Smith after pal Dave Chappelle was tackled onstage at the Netflix is a Joke festival in Los Angeles Tuesday night, according to accessonline.com.
Sharing a video obtained by NBC News, the outlet says Rock was among those who tended to Chappelle and the two appeared to be in good spirits after the incident when Rock took the mic. “Was that Will Smith?” he said, in reference to the suspect.
Chappelle was reportedly attacked and tackled to the ground at the Netflix is a Joke show at the Hollywood Bowl before security, and Jamie Foxx, intervened Tuesday night.
According to reports, the unnamed attacker was carrying a replica gun that could eject a knife blade, though it is unknown whether the weapon was used. Video footage from later in the evening showed the attacker being loaded onto an ambulance and sent to a nearby hospital.
