Zac Efron was rushed to a hospital in Spain following what his representative described as a “minor swimming incident” at a villa in Ibiza on Friday night, per tmz.com.
The 36-year-old Hollywood star, known for his roles in The Iron Claw and Ricky Stanicky, was reportedly found in distress inside the swimming pool by two villa staff members who quickly pulled him out of the water.
While details surrounding the incident remain unclear, Efron’s representative assured TMZ that the hospital visit was merely a precautionary measure. The actor was released Saturday morning and is said to be recovering well. However, questions linger about the severity of the incident, given the urgent response and subsequent hospitalisation.
This unexpected event interrupts what has been a leisurely European tour for Efron, who has been spotted by paparazzi in various glamorous locations including St. Tropez, Mykonos, and Paris over the past month. Just days before the incident, the actor was seen energetically performing on stage with renowned DJ Martin Garrix.
Efron is currently on a well-deserved break following his recent successes and is slated to appear in an upcoming “Three Men and a Baby” reboot, currently in pre-production.
