Jordan Peele’s highly anticipated fourth directorial feature has been pulled from Universal Pictures’ 2026 release schedule, leaving the follow-up to his hit film Nope with no set premiere date, according to nme.com. The untitled horror project, which would have marked Peele’s return to directing after four years, was previously slated for an October 23, 2026 release, strategically timed for the Halloween season.
This is not the first delay for the secretive film. It was initially planned for a Christmas 2024 release but was postponed due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strikes.
According to sources at Variety, Peele is still in the process of developing the project, with filming yet to begin.
Details on the plot and cast remain under tight wraps. However, Peele has previously expressed his excitement for the film, calling it his “favourite” work to date. With no new date announced, fans may have to wait until 2027 or later to see the next horror masterpiece from the Academy Award-winning director of Get Out, Us and Nope.
