Tyler Perry’s life to be explored in new documentary

A new documentary on the life of Tyler Perry will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on November 17. The film, titled “Maxine’s Baby: The Tyler Perry Story,” is directed by Gelila Bekele and Armani Ortiz, and tells the story of Perry’s rise to fame from his humble beginnings to his current status as a multi-hyphenate entertainment mogul.

The documentary will explore Perry’s childhood, which was filled with poverty and abuse. It will also look at his relationship with his mother, Maxine, who was a constant source of love and support. Perry has said that his mother’s love was instrumental in helping him overcome his childhood trauma and achieve success.

The documentary will also examine Perry’s work as a writer, actor, director and producer. 

Perry is best known for his stage plays and films, which often feature strong female characters. He has also created his own production company, Tyler Perry Studios, which is located in Atlanta, Georgia.

“Maxine’s Baby: The Tyler Perry Story” is a tender and intimate portrait of a man who has overcome adversity to achieve great success. It is a story of hope and resilience that will resonate with audiences of all ages.

Nearly a decade in the making, the directors had unfettered access to Perry and his family for the film produced and distributed by Amazon Studios.
