•Pao Houa Her, Nim ye, 2024 (still installation view). Five-channel video, color, sound. 13 minutes, looped.

Curator Song Hà will take art enthusiasts on a virtual journey through apexart’s New York City exhibition, “A Lotus Blooming in a Sea of Fire,” during a live Instagram tour scheduled for tonight, November 7, from 10 to 10:30pm (GMT+1).

The exhibition draws on the powerful wisdom and experiences of Southeast Asian refugees, the largest refugee group ever settled in the US, to explore art’s capacity to foster healing and envision new futures.

Through a collection of immersive sculptures, textiles, films and performances, the exhibition invites viewers to contemplate their own roles in building a world where conflict is not an ending, but a catalyst for new possibilities.

No RSVP is necessary, simply tune in to the Instagram Live stream @apexartnyc to join the 30-minute virtual experience.

Song Hà, whose name means “twin rivers” in Vietnamese, is a multidisciplinary filmmaker and poet. Her work is dedicated to harnessing the power of the earth to recover marginalised memory and create futures that celebrate difference.
