Safurat Balogun, culture advocate, and former head of Library services at Goethe Institut Lagos has joined the podcast fray with the launch of her podcast – ValidThoughts.
According to Ms. Balogun, who is now based in India, the podcast will focus on the “concept of homeland, language and belonging.”
In her intro she notes that ” Growing up I was lucky enough to travel and explore the world mostly on my own terms. A few years ago after my move to Lagos my love for the creative industry and the arts blossomed. ValidThoughts Creative Space has undergone a lot of different phases and ideas. We talk to friends and family about the concept of homeland, language and belonging.“
The debut edition featured Safurat in conversation with friend, sometimes cousin and fellow German emigre – Babajide Moibi and they talk about growing up in the ancient city of Ibadan, “the influence of cyber cafes on him today, music and Yoruba worldview.”
The second edition featured singer and songwriter, Katie Marple
