Ricarlo Flanagan, of “Shameless” and “Last Comic Standing” fame, dead at 40

Ricarlo Flanagan, a finalist on Season 9 of Last Comic Standing and actor on Shameless, has died. He was 40.

Flanagan’s agent confirmed his passing to Deadline, but did not cite a cause of death, according to the New York Post.

Earlier this month, the  publication reports, the comedian posted about contracting the coronavirus along with some of the brutal symptoms COVID-19 is known for.

“This covid is no joke. I don’t wish this on anybody,” he tweeted.

In replies to the post, he mentioned chest pains while discussing NBA star Kyrie Irving, who refuses to get vaccinated.

“Yeah tell Kyrie to take some of this chest pain and see how he feels,” he wrote.

His family in Cleveland, Ohio, started a GoFundMe, writing that he “suddenly passed away and sadly was far from his family.”

Flanagan was reportedly set to appear on Peacock’s comedy series Bust Down and in the movie Emily the Criminal alongside Aubrey Plaza and Theo Rossi.

He also had a career as a rapper under the moniker Father Flanagan, according to the outlet, and his fourth album, Both Sides Of The Brain, was released on Tuesday.
